The Cerebral Palsy Research Network (CPRN) announced that Akron Children’s Hospital has joined its network as its 26th site and has implemented its cerebral palsy registry. Under the leadership of Dr. Micah Baird, a pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor, Akron Children’s Hospital will begin to contribute patient and intervention data to the CPRN CP Registry. Akron Children’s Hospital physiatrists managed 916 patients with CP last year and the hospital treated more than 1900 for CP in total. Akron Children’s Hospital expands CPRN’s network footprint into north eastern Ohio complementing the patient reach of Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus Ohio. Akron Children’s Hospital’s participation will improve the reach and impact of CPRN’s mission to improve outcomes for people with cerebral palsy.
